Where the Modern/Prestige/Summit line stands in 2026

MSI's productivity line in our catalog is a young one: 23 models, all released between 2023 and 2026, priced from $954 to $1,500 with a median of $1,084. Seventeen are ultrabooks, four are Summit business machines, and two are Prestige Flip convertibles. There is no legacy tail to triage here — every unit in the roster runs a current-generation platform, which changes the buying math from "how old can I tolerate" to "which of three sublines fits".

RAM ceilings run 16 to 64 GB, weights span 0.89 to 2.1 kg with the 13-inch Prestige at the light end, and screens cover 13.3 to 16 inches.

Price versus age

The ladder is tight and young: the 2023 cohort asks $954 across six models, 2024 spreads $1,007–1,084 across eight, 2025 posts $1,232 for the two Prestige 13/16 AI Evo refreshes, and the seven 2026 models ask $1,400–1,500 with the Flip convertibles at the top. Because the floor is already high, stepping back from 2026 to 2023 saves only about $450 total across three years — the shallowest age curve you will meet in the used market. The practical lever is not age but subline: same-year Modern, Prestige and Summit models share prices while differing in build and GPU.

Which one to buy

For creator work on a budget, the Prestige 16 AI Studio B1V (2023, $954, Core Ultra 7 155H + RTX 4050) is the roster's cheapest discrete-GPU machine, and the Summit E16 AI Studio (2024, $1,007, Core Ultra 7 155H + RTX 4050) repeats the formula in the business subline. The Prestige 13 AI Evo A1M (2023, $954, Core Ultra 5 125H) is the light entry at 13 inches. For mainstream office use, the Modern 15 H AI (2024, $1,084, Core Ultra 5 125H + Arc 7-Cores iGPU) is the flat-priced workhorse, and the Prestige 13 AI+ A2V (2025, $1,232, Core Ultra 7 255H + Arc 140T) is the compact pick one generation newer.

Bottom line

Across the roster, the strengths are exactly what a productivity line should deliver: energy efficiency median 86.9, portability 62.3, mobility 65 and a solid reliability reading of 70. The best CPU score median of 67.8 backs that up. The limits are equally clear: best GPU score median is 3.8 and zero games clear recommended settings at the median configuration — only the three Studio variants change that story, and only modestly. Performance index sits at 53.7 and USComp Score at 52. In short: an efficient, well-built, current-platform pool where the Studio dGPU models are the only rows that stretch beyond office duty.
