A 2015 convertible whose premium Spectre branding does not match its capability today

The HP Spectre x360 is a 2015 2-in-1 convertible at $181, below the convertible median of $356. Its premium lineage shows in the build, but the metrics are blunt about capability: no axis rises above the category median. Graphics register zero (integrated), reliability is "low" at 11, and the CPU is "basic" (best_cpu_score 20.57). The Spectre name buys a nice hinge, not modern performance.

No strength clears the convertible field

This Spectre has no top strength. Graphics are absent against a category median of 3.84 (integrated, no discrete GPU), reliability at 11 is "low" (about 78% below the convertible median of 49), and the CPU lands at the "basic" level (about 65% below the median). It is a basic 2-in-1 for everyday tasks, not a premium performer.

A 2-in-1 form factor with dated internals

The convertible hinge and touchscreen are the real draw — the form factor still has value for media and casual use. But a 6th-gen dual-core CPU with integrated graphics cannot handle gaming, GPU work, or anything demanding. Realistic use is web, media, and light office in tablet-friendly form.

Steady residual decline

From an original price near $1,500, the Spectre x360 has fallen to $181 at about 7.6% per year, with a projected two-year value near $154 — about a 15% further drop. The decline is steady and the steep part is largely over.

Where it sits among peers

Priced below other convertibles: an HP Pro x2 612 G2 ($207) costs more, while a Dell Latitude 3120 2-in-1 ($160) or HP ProBook x360 11 G5 EE ($155) come in cheaper. For the Spectre build quality the price is low, but cheaper peers offer similar everyday capability.

Bottom line

At $181 this is a budget-friendly pick if what you want is a premium-feeling 2-in-1 for web and media — the Spectre build and hinge are genuinely nice. The compromises are weak integrated graphics, a "basic" CPU, and "low" reliability. Worth it for the form factor at a budget price; not for performance.
